Tamasa has been pursuing this project since 2017 reflecting its commitment to enabling sustainable energy solutions and contributing to South Africa’s economic resilience.
About the Strategic Fuel Fund (SFF)
The Strategic Fuel Fund (SFF) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the South African National Petroleum Company (SANPC), mandated by the South African government to manage the country’s strategic reserves of crude oil and petroleum products. As a state-owned non-profit company, SFF plays a vital role in national energy security, infrastructure development, and emergency fuel readiness. Its involvement in Ukwanda LNG aligns with its broader mission to support South Africa’s transition to a more secure, diversified and sustainable energy future.
